Today many managers are required to have an understanding of basic finance. Let Horus shine a light on all those mystifying terms with a bespoke finance for non-financial mangers session for your business.

INTERIM FINANCE DIRECTOR
If your company is experiencing a period of acute financial need, or you are not sure what level of resource you require on an ongoing basis; an interim FD can help you to achieve good progress without an unnecessary long term commitment.
What is an Interim Finance Director?

Interim Finance Director’s (FD’s) are independent FD’s who work through Limited Companies. As there is no permanent commitment there are none of the traditional employment issues
Interim FD’s are over qualified and bring a vast amount of experience to the project
Due to their seniority they do not need to be supervised, freeing up management time and allowing them to provide the maximum contribution quickly
Employees benefit from learning new skills and having a mentor
Interim FD’s absorb data quickly and are able to “hit the ground running”
The nature of their work makes them adaptable to different environments & different sectors
Assignments can be tailored to individual company needs whether that be daily, weekly, monthly or longer
Once the project is complete they move on, so they are only paid when they are contributing
Interim FD’s take full responsibility for implementation and results

What can an Interim Finance Director do for my business?

Financial Training

Today many managers are required to have an understanding of basic finance. Let Horus shine a light on all those mystifying terms with a bespoke finance for non-financial mangers session for your business.

Cash flow and business planning

I can help you develop cash flow projections and business models which will help take your business forward. If you need to approach the bank or other financial institution it is imperative that you are able to illustrate the strengths of your business and when any prospective loan will be repaid.

Business Reviews
We work with clients to systematically assess the performance of their business to understand key issues, how they interconnect and identify practical steps to solve them.

Reviews can include the complete business, individual functions and /or specific projects. They usually take between 2-7 days dependent on the scope of the review. This would include the project preparation, conducting the onsite review, inputting to / challenging the team and plans and preparation of all the outputs.

Financial Health Check
In challenging economic times it is critical to have a grip on the finances of the business, whether it’s managing the cash-flow, looking for cost reductions, understanding the performance of the different parts of the organisation or planning ahead. At Horus Consulting we help businesses in all aspects of financial reporting, planning and analysis.

We undertake to review the commercial management reporting within the business and make recommendations on how to improve planning and forecasting, introduce balanced score cards and improve KPI reporting.

Benefits
Key outputs from the review will include:
- Clear, concise, practical recommendations on how to improve financial analysis and reporting

– Proposals on improvements to planning and forecasting
– How to use this information to focus and get more from your teams
- Importance of linking strategic and operational        KPI’s to individual performance
– Timescales and requirements to implement the changes and get the benefits
– An external perspective gained from dealing with similar issues across diverse organisations

Most significantly Horus will link these different aspects together to show how to drive the performance of your business and your teams. Once the actions and priorities have been agreed Horus will fully support the team to deliver any agreed projects and deliver the benefits.

Management Accounts

Management Accounts are vital for a business to understand it’s overheads and profitability of individual business lines. I can produce monthly management accounts for you and work with you to develop a management accounts pack that takes your raw data from a general ledger system and produces a P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and debtor’s outstanding statement.

Independent Examiner

I can prepare annual accounts (subject to audit) and act as an independent examiner for a small charity’s where the gross income is below £500,000 or the gross income exceeds £250,000 but its gross assets are less than £3.26M

Part Time Finance Director

As your business grows you will need different tools to manage your business. With the help of a finance director who can advise strategically and apply commercial experience when considering new opportunities for your company as well as perhaps when dealing with banks and finance houses, or when preparing budgets and forecasts. Alternatively, you may have someone who can deal with the day to day issues, but needs mentoring to step up.

You may not need a full time Finance Director, and with Horus Consulting you will only pay for the days you need.

Non Executive Director

The responsibilities of a non-executive director can vary and may include:

1. Safeguard the interests of the shareholders
2. Strategic value in a particular market place
3. Add balance to a team
4. Provide insight into corporate governance

Horus Consulting is well placed to undertake this role due to the mix of previous clients, industrial sectors and knowledge of the SME market.
